Dear Parents & Guardians

Welcome to Week 8 of Term 3

Well done to all of the community members who made Book Week such a success last week.  With the Book Fair preparations, Joey’s in Jamas, Book Week Character Parade and various book related competitions and activities, it was certainly a very busy week indeed.  Thanks to the P&F as well as Mrs Senini, Mrs Mooney and Mrs Roberts for all of the organising that went into all of the events.

Congratulations to the Year 5C rugby league team and the Senior A netballers who both competed in Grand Finals last Friday.  Both teams played fantastically in very narrow defeats.  The netballers were valiant in defeat to Frenchville SS 17-12.  To be in the top two school teams in Rockhampton and being beaten by a school nearly three times our size is an achievement in itself.  The footballers faced a big task also playing an undefeated Heights side who has racked up large victories all year.  To only go down by one try in a close and entertaining game was also a great effort.

Well done to all of the students as well as their coaches.

A few reminders for this week:

• We have our Term 3 Disco tomorrow in the Multi-purpose Area. The theme is ‘Disney’ and I am sure there will be plenty of fun for all.  Information about the disco has been sent out via the Year 6 class over the last couple of weeks.  Hope to see you there.

• The Book Fair is running in the library this week. Just a reminder that it is cash only.

• This Friday, 1^st September is a Pupil Free Day. Vacation Care is running on a reduced scale due to limited staff availability.
